I can fill pages of the simple acts of community i.e. a recent night when the back door was left unlocked, a kind neighbor noticed that the door was blown wide open by the wind as he was walking his dog. It was 2am, he woke up another neighbor who had my cell number and waited until I got there to make sure all was ok.
